This website is dedicated to the hobby of pump clip collecting. Pump clips are brewery advertisements of the beer they are serving. They clip on to handpumps which serve the beer. They are made of various materials with the pressed foam being the most common.
The first pump clips were made of enamel, brass or other metals. They
first appeared sometime between 1927 and 1934. Examples exist in collections of Worthingtons and Guiness which have been dated to circa 1934.
If anyone has proof of earlier clips please let us know.
Collectors either collect one from each brewery or try to get as many as possible. The latter collectors always know to the exact figure how many they have! Some just collect themes like aviation, cricket, dogs, football and glamour.
A novel way of exhibiting a collection!
